Mary Sproule

The daughter of Gladys Phillips Stewart and S. Scott Stewart, she graduated from Baldwin School and attended Philadelphia Museum School of Art.

She married Gordon I. Lindsay 1939 and lived in Greenwich, Ct. for 30 years where she raised her three children, Barbara, David and Gordon. She was an active Real Estate Broker, a founding member of the Greenwich Junior League and enjoyed golf and sailing.

She married Ralph B. Sproule 1971 and moved to Ponte Vedra in 1974 and was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, a founding member of the Chapel Altar Guild and Chapel Herb Society. She and Ralph were long standing members of the Ponte Vedra Club.

They moved to Vicars landing 1996 where she enjoyed many close friendships and became involved in the entertainment committee, marketing committee and the Chapel.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara L. Whittaker and son, David D. Lindsay, three grandchildren, Adare Lindsay Kiely, Ashley Whittaker Spence and Lindsay Whittaker and three great grandchildren Emily, Lily and Bo Whittaker. She was preceded in death by son, Gordon I. Lindsay and husband, Ralph Sproule.

A memorial service will be held at Vicars Chapel on Wednesday, February 1, at 10:00 AM. Arrangements are under the direction of HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL.
