Mary Alice Wortman PhD

Mary Alice Wortman PhD, 69, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Dr. Wortman was born in Lake Geneva, WI in 1944. Mary Alice received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin and after serving as Vice President of Corporate Training at CNA Insurance in Chicago, obtained a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and PhD from Northeastern University in Boston.

She is survived by her husband John Wortman, her brother Robert Massey of Milwaukee, and a second brother Francis who preceded her in death. Other survivors include two nieces Dana Massey and Heather Massey, two step children, and seven step grandchildren. Mary Alice and John have lived in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL since 1999.

Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL. The memorial service will be held at St Francis Church in Lake Geneva, WI at a later date. Derrick Funeral Home of Lake Geneva, WI will coordinate the service in that location (262-248-2031). Interment St. Francis Cemetery in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
