Masahiro “Bobby” Nakajima, 63, passed away March 22, 2013 following a lengthy illness. Born in Japan, he came to the US in 1972. He owned and operated Jacksonville Beach landmark, Chizu Japanese Steakhouse for nearly 30 years. Bobby had a love of singing, music and played trumpet in the local band, Not Tonight, I’ve Got the Blues.
Preceded in death by his parents, Iwao Nakajima and Chizu Kato, brother, Yoshihiro Nakajima and nephew, Jimmy Sanford, he is survived by his daughter, Christina Nakajima, Christina’s mother and his business-partner, Cindy Ramalho; sister, Hiroko Sanford; two nieces; one nephew, and great-niece and great-nephew, Gracie & Jack.
Funeral services will be held 6 pm Friday, March 29th at First Baptist Church, Jacksonville Beach with Pastor Ben Wallis. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. You are encouraged to bring a memento or photo of Bobby to help celebrate and remember the many aspects of his life. Private burial will be at a later date. For those who prefer, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.
