Nelle B. Norman

Nelle Bookout Norman of Jacksonville died October 5th. She was born October 19, 1922 in Grover, NC to Arthur and Carrie Beam Bookout. She was preceded in death by her husband Josephus Norman, siblings: Arthur, Conrad, Roy, and Joe Bookout, Frances Jolly, Jean Crowell and Modell Jarrett, her brothers-in-law Horace Jolly, Joe Crowell and Harry Jarrett and sister-in-law Jane Bookout. She is survived by sisters-in-law Pelham Bookout, Martha Bookout and Evelyn Bookout. She is also survived by her daughter Laura Wareh (Faiz), son Joe Norman, grandchildren Lynn Coles (Jay), Marie Wareh, Rashad Wareh (Peggy) and Tarik Wareh (Patricia). Nelle cherished six great grandchildren Jack, Sam and Elena Coles, Faiz and Cora Wareh, and Tatiana Bowe. Nelle was a gifted teacher who inspired many students to pursue a career in science and inspired and mentored many teachers.

One initiative in which she took special pride was volunteering to be among the teachers who first integrated the faculty of Raines High School. She later described her years at Raines as the most satisfying of her teaching career.

Services will be at 11AM Saturday the 8th at Shepherd of the Woods Lutheran Church, 7860 Southside Blvd, Jacksonville 32256 with a visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Warren Smith Cemetery, Jacksonville Beach, FL.

The family suggests memorials in Nelle's name in lieu of flowers to the Samuel C.
