Paul E Waldrup Sr.

Paul Edward Waldrup, Sr., 76, was granted his angel wings on August 18, 2015. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends that Paul had touched in some small way. He was born in Jonesville, NC; lived mostly in Jacksonville, FL and Slidell, LA before residing in Virginia Beach, VA.

After a short time in the Navy, Paul worked with his brothers in construction, mastering his skills as a Drywall Hanger and Finisher. He also worked as a Snapper fisherman and Captain alongside his brothers. Paul enjoyed fishing, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.

Paul was a devoted Husband and Father, who was loved so very much, and brought so much happiness to the many hearts he touched. Paul was always kind and caring and so understanding too, he would freely help anyone who needed it. He was a gift to the world that bought joy to everyone with his calming soul and generous heart. Paul loved with all his heart and our lives will never be the same since he is gone.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susie Waldrup of Jacksonville, FL. Also left to cherish his memory are his children and their spouses: Paul and Rebecca Waldrup, Virginia Beach, VA; Felecia and Gary Keasling, Virginia Beach, VA; Paula and John Weatherbee, Aurora, CO; Amy and Eric Whitecotton, Parker, CO; Laura Davis, Virginia Beach, VA and Lorna Waldrup, Augusta, GA.

Grandchildren: Micheal (Kelly), Benjamin, Samual, Steven, Lee (Dani), Crystal, Amber (Josh), John (Sarah), Joshua, Taylor, Dakota, Kayla, Lee, Autumn, Daniel, and Sian Great Children: Lili, Harley, Jayden, Elona, Jade, Ethan, Bentley, Taylor, Carter, Jeniemae, Jaxon, with one on the way. Brothers: Jack Waldrup and Tommy Waldrup. In-laws: Danny McCorkel, Joe McCorkel, Grady and Mary McCorkel, Faye and Joe Tedesco, Karen and Eric Costello, and numerous nieces, nephews. Along with his baby boy Beau.

Paul was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, lil Susie; parents, Charlie and Margaret (Holbrook) Waldrup, and sister, Dorothy Jones.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 28, 2015 at the Beaches Chapel by Hardage-Giddens, 1701 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250. Interment of ashes immediately following at H. Warren Smith Cemetery on the corner of Penman Rd. and Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach, FL.
