

Paulette E. Walker, 60, had a courageous battle with cancer and she went to her heavenly reward with the angels singing on June 24, 2013. She was a native of Jacksonville. Paulette retired from the City of Jacksonville after 24 years as the Paymaster for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. She was a former Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach. Paulette loved to fish and was Anglerette of the Year multiple times and currently holds the JOSFC record for the largest kingfish of 59.5 lbs. She also loved cruising, bowling, family and friends, but family was always first with her.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years (Retired Chief from JFRD), Captain Roger Walker, son Ryan and daughter Anna, mother Betty Perdue, brother Felton Perdue Jr. (Mary), sisters Fonda Cote (Jim), and Beth Magee (Malon), brothers-in-law Robert Walker Jr. (Diana) of Asheville, NC and Randall Walker (Maryellen) of Charlotte, NC. She was predeceased by her father, Felton Perdue, Sr. and in-laws Mary Jean Walker and Robert M. Walker. She has numerous nieces and nephews on both sides of the family and cousins and many other loving relatives and friends and the huge fishing community including the JOSFC, which she held the office of secretary.
