Pete Santa Scorza

Pete was the devoted husband of Trudi Scorza and the proud father of Lari M Scorza, MD. He cherished his role as a grandfather to his three granddaughters: Anastasia, Charlotte, and Elizabeth Peternelj. Pete is also survived by his sister, Theresa Muto. Pete was pre-deceased by his parents, Mary and Pete Scorza, and his three brothers Jim, Nick, and Donald Scorza.

Born and raised in Ellsworth, Pennsylvania, Pete proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps. Following his service, he graduated from the California University of Pennsylvania and subsequently completed his Masters at the University of Pittsburgh. Pete then dedicated his career to education as a secondary math instructor at Charleroi and Elizabeth Forward High Schools. His passion for teaching left a lasting impact on countless students over the years.

As an avid golfer throughout his life, Pete won many amateur tournaments both individually and with his league partners. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Golf League and a lifelong member of Chippewa golf course in Bentleyville, PA. His love for the sport extended beyond playing; he also shared his knowledge as a golf coach at Elizabeth Forward and also as a basketball coach at Charleroi. Pete's enthusiasm for sports didn't stop there-he was a lifelong fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates and had season tickets for the Steelers since they played in Forbes Field.

Pete's legacy is one of dedication-to his family, his students, and the activities that brought him joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
