I am Ray’s sister and I would like to thank you all for your kind words and sharing the memories you have of Ray. He made Florida his home and we loved to visit. He made lots of friends and had fond memories of the people he worked thru the years with at Neptune Beach. We have respected his wishes not to have a memorial service. However your expressions of friendship and sympathy are greatly appreciated at this time as our hearts are breaking with our sadness as his death was such a shock and he will be greatly missed. Your words bring comfort in our lost and yes he is singing with his love ones and Angels now.
Thanks for sharing! I know this is unusual for a family member to respond but I want you to know how much it means to us since you were not able to share your stories and sympathy in person. God Bless. For everything there is a season....Starla

Mr. Bond is one of the smiling faces imprinted into my magical time at Neptune Beach Elementary. I can remember him and his jolly full baritone-barrel chested laugh, bright eyes and beard. One thing that also stuck out in my memories of Mr. Bond were his wardrobes in the 80s- the most rich and delectable brown ensembles... Later only realizing his affinity for brown was because he was color-blind! Ray Bond was a dear friend of my mom for many years and from what I can see here, a dear friend to many. He has left a positive impact and caring spirit in the memories of all of you and I send my thoughts and wishes for those celebrating his life.

I had know Ray for many years since we worked together as a team at Neptune Beach Elementary. He was an amazing man, so talented in many ways with his musical abilities (what a beautiful singing voice he had!) to caring for plants and animals. He even took a class I taught on calligraphy! I enjoyed hearing stories of him playing Bingo with his grandmother which spurred a life long enjoyment of all things in the gaming sports—especially those in Biloxi! I remember him telling me that based on his family history he would never live beyond “59”. I thank the Lord He gave Ray many more years to share his warm spirit with those around him. He is greatly missed and continues to be remembered with much love and affection.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Ray at NBE. He was so quiet at times, and funny at others. Ray would do anything he could to help you out. He will be greatly missed but know that now he is at peace and joining family and friends who passed before him.
