Ray was born in Tamuning, Guam and lived in California and Georgia before making Florida his home.
Ray will be remembered for his love of family, being the life of the party, and for his unique way to connect with you. His smile and charisma naturally attracted people to him. He was known to be supportive, loving, and protective to those he cared deeply about.
Ray was a kind-hearted person who represented strength, hope and the determination to overcome lifes barriers.
Ray is reunited in heaven with his father, Rudy Gumataotao, Grandparents (Antonio and Remedios Quichocho, Adriano Gumataotao, Vera Moreno, and Geneave Gumataotao) in addition to the Cruz Family (Raymond Cruz, Pedro Gogue and Rosario Blaz Cruz) and other loved ones.
He is survived by his mother, Carmen Quichocho Gumataotao; sister, Elisha Gumataotao (Anaya and Chloe Douglas); sister, Christina Gumataotao (Aleah Gumataotao Border); Life Partner, Curt Johnson (pup Spanky). Ray extended his brotherly role to Kimberly Nelson and partner, Christopher Espino (Mary Velazquez, Rey Velazquez, Kayden Espino), he extended his Uncle role to Keilah Douglas (Ely’jah Marrow, Jr.), River Douglas and Xyara Mercado.
In addition, Ray has numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, family, and friends that will miss him dearly.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 5:00 PM at Broxton Bay, 12900 Broxton Bay Drive, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. (In the Clubhouse)
