Ray spent his entire career with the New York Telephone company where he held several senior management positions in Accounting.
Ray served in World War II in the 104th Infantry Division known as the Timberwolves. Ray was an avid golfer, boater, snow skier and all-around sports enthusiast. His pride and joy was his 1960 wooden Penn Yan powerboat, “Double Martini”, which he meticulously maintained at his boathouse on the Five Mile River in Rowayton, Connecticut for 50 years. Ray was famous for his “Dock Parties” at his boathouse and was a fan of The Boston Red Sox and Uconn Huskies.
Ray had a love of numbers and would gladly share with you that he had found over 100,000 gold balls during retirement and stun you with statistics like what his heating oil consumption was by month since 1950 or proudly reveal his age (in days – 34,870).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 at 4 pm at the Chapel of Cypress Village Brookdale, 4600 Middleton Park Circle East, Jacksonville, FL with a reception to follow.
