

WILLIAMS Rebecca N. Canter McKay Williams, (Gran Becky) 88, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, departed this life September 22, 2012 with her family at her side. Rebecca was born in Lynnville, Kentucky, on March 6, 1924 and was a graduate of Sedalia High School and Holley's Beauty School.
She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Luther and DeLina Burnett Canter; husbands David Main McKay and James Williams; brothers Neal (Rebecca) and Ernest (Ann) Canter; sisters Lillie Mae Canter (Codie) Jones and Louise Canter (Alan) Brooks. Rebecca is survived by her daughter Karen McKay Burns Hanks; granddaughters Stacey Burns (Brian) Virata and Stephanie Burns (Kyle) Cauble; 2 great-grandchildren (who were definitely the light of her life) Bryce and Anastasia Virata; nephew Jimmy (Judy) Canter; and nieces Bobbie Brooks (John) Sims, Martha Jones (Jim) Knight; and 14 great nieces and nephews, and last, but certainly not least, her constant fur-baby companion, Lexie.
Rebecca spent many years as a hair stylist and later with Curlee Clothing Company from which she retired. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, The Daughters of the Nile Neith Temple and was a long time member of Seventh and College Church of Christ in Mayfield, Kentucky.
A celebration of Rebecca's life will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 5:30 p.m., Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach, FL.
