

Richard J. Englert, Sr. Dick, 86, passed away, following a brief illness, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was a resident of the Beach since 1944 where he was a longtime member and Deacon Emeritus at First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach. Dick served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from W.W. Gay Mechanical Contractors. He was a 61-year member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union 234. Preceded in death by his first wife, Jackie Englert, he is survived by his wife Helen T. Englert; sons, Richard Englert (Elizabeth), David Englert (Cherry), Donnie Englert (Karen) and Mark Englert; daughters, Marcelle Gillis (Jim) and Melody Pugh (Greg); step-children, Gary Davis (Bonnie) and Karen Cosentino; sister, Loretta Rankin; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 14th in the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville Beach, 324 5th St. N., Jax Bch,, with Dick's son, Richard J. Englert, Jr., presiding. Interment will follow in H. Warren Smith Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jax Bch.
