
Richard Anthony Homan, 71, of West Palm Beach, FL, died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at McGraw Center - Community Hospice, Jacksonville, FL. Mr. Homan was born in Port Monmouth, NJ, on July 18, 1940, the son of the late Rudolph Gustav Frank Homan and Olive Madeline Homan. Mr. Homan worked in Civil Service as a computer program operator from 1966-1995. He went to the ADJ General School in Indianapolis, IN, served in the US Army as a Civil Engineer, in France from 1962-1965. As a child, he was in the Sea Scouts receiving the honor of Star Scout and Quarter Mast. He and his brother, Walter, were the only two brothers to receive that honor at the same time.
Surviving relatives are his nieces and nephews: Fred Harrison, wife Rebecca of Jacksonville, FL. Deborah Riddle, husband Mark of Colorado Springs, CO. Randolph Harrison of Fort Oglethorpe, GA. Walter Homan, wife Susan of Beechwood, NJ. Laurie Homan of Lake Havasu City, AZ. Lisa Cozza, husband Robert of Buford, GA. Kathy Karinja, husband Steven of Rumson, NJ. And 11 grand nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Beth Harrison, a brother Walter Homan, and sister-in-law Rondelein Homan. Richard will be missed by his friends in West Palm Beach, FL, Long Branch, NJ and all his family members. His ashes will be laid to rest at Woodbine Cemetery, West Long Branch, NJ.
