Robert Dennis Leshyn

Robert aka Bob, Bubba and Coach was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 17th, 1946. He graduated from Gage Park High School and attended the University of Iowa.

He was married to Regina Ann Leshyn (Wade) on May 21st, 1976.

Bob had a passion for sports – he loved to play and he loved to watch; especially baseball. He played a lot of baseball and was a letterman for the Iowa Hawkeyes. After college he was a key player for the Chicago area National Electric Chiefs, helping them win the 1967 & 1968 National Championships. He continued playing the sport in some capacity for years. After having the boys, his loved continued through his fatherhood with coaching.

He was most passionate about watching his grandsons. No matter what his condition, he was at all the football games watching Ayden and baseball fields watching Mason – he would never miss if he could help it – cheering them on in that voice that carried for miles “Atta boy!!”

Bob is survived by his Wife of 45 years Gina, 3 Sons Jeff (44) Mark (41) and James (39), 2 Grandsons Ayden (16) and Mason (10), Sister Lois Overbaugh (Alan), Brothers John (Elena) and Dave (Marie) Leshyn.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM, Saturday June 12th at the Jacksonville Beach Moose Lodge.
