Robert Henry Meyer, 84, passed away December 27, 2015, lovingly surrounded by his family. Robert was born in Beardstown, Illinois. He enlisted in the Navy and served during the Korean War. He met his wife of 60 years, Mary Young Meyer, while stationed at NAS Mayport. Robert retired from McCall Service where he was Vice President.
Robert was a devout Christian. He was a member of Beach United Methodist Church for the past 20 years. Prior to that, he was a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church where he served in many capacities. Robert was a member of the Masonic Order and Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for 56 years. He was a charter member and Past Master of J. Wendell Fargis Lodge F. & A. M. Robert was committed to his community and served in many civic organizations.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; his daughter, Denise Russell (Lanny); his son, Robert, Jr. (Teri); his grandchildren, Everett and Landon Russell and Sara and Jacob Meyer; his brother, Wilbur Meyer (Peggy); his sister, Marilyn Paul (Michael); and many other beloved family and friends.
