FILIPOWICZ- Roman Ivan Filipowicz, MD, 88, passed away June 18, 2010. He was born in Lviv, Ukraine, formerly a resident of South Holland, Illinois, and moved to Jacksonville in May of 2009, where he was a resident at Ashford Court. Dr. Filipowicz was a family practitioner until his retirement at the age of 80.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eleonora Filipowicz.
Survivors include his daughter, Dr. Daria Marranzini (Jose); sons, Dr. Roman O. Filipowicz (Carol), and Andrey Filipowicz (Ana); and seven grandchildren, Eleonora and Gabriela Marranzini, Andrew, Christopher, Tess, Hala, and Alexander Filipowicz.
A memorial service will be held in the lobby at Ashford Court, 1700 The Greens Way, Jacksonville Beach, 32250, on Saturday, June 26, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Alzheimer’s Association.
