Ruby Alice Elian

Ruby Alice Elian, 93, died on January 26, 2012. Born in Jacksonville, she and her late husband, Robert Elian, moved to Miami in 1947 and relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach in the late ‘70s. She attended Andrew Jackson High School, belonged to the Oakbridge Womens’ Golf Association, the Oakbridge Woman’s Club and was a member of the Red Hats.

Ruby was predeceased by her parents; Pearl and John Wright, sisters Margaret McIlmoil and Bridget Ghioto; and brothers Johnny and Willie Wright.

She is survived by daughters Margaret Clark, Ponte Vedra and Teri Lightsey, Yulee; granddaughter Nicki Herbertson, Jacksonville; grandson Danny Lightsey, Yulee; a brother and sister-in-law Matt and Jackie Wright, Cary, NC; many nieces and nephews, including Mac McIlmoil (Linda) of Jacksonville Beach, John Wright, Teddy Ghioto (Marian), Ann Hartley (Jimmy), Matt Wright (Edwina), Pam Kirchman (Alan), Susan Pfeffer (Scott) and former son-in-law Kelly Lightsey.

The family will receive friends from 10:30-11am Monday, January 30 at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 1701 Beach Blvd. Jacksonville Beach. Service will follow at 11am with Father William Kelly officiating.
