

Ms. Priest was born in Bailey’s Switch, KY and was the daughter of the late Elijah and Laura Trent Shelton.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Gregory and Glenda Cox of Murfreesboro and Kevin and Shaun Cox of Colorado Springs, Co; close as a daughter, Mary Kelley and Peter Kryzwick of St. Augustine, FL; sisters, Irene Thompson of Somerset, KY and Mary (Jim) Stroud of Elizabethtown, KY; brothers, Lonnie (Lola) Shelton of Howell, MI, Oscar Shelton of New Carlisle, OH, John Shelton of Franklin, OH and Andy (Sue) Shelton of Garden City, MI; step children, Gail Targett of OH, Terry Young of WI, Donna Beyer of WI and Greg Baker of GA. Ms. Priest was preceded in death by husbands, Paul Baker and Donald Priest.
She worked for CSX Railroad for 25 years as a logistics specialist and was a proud member of the Ribault Garden Club for many years. Along with her green thumb, Miss Ruby had a strong penchant for crafts and an artistic eye for decorating. Above all, she had a “true love for life.” Ms. Priest and her husband Paul were frequent participants at the senior dances in Jacksonville.
Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Priest will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Beaches Chapel by Hardage Giddens in Jacksonville Beach with Father Wm. Kelly officiating. Friends are cordially invited to a visitation one hour prior to the service on February 18, 2017.
Memorial donations may be made to Ribault Garden Club or to the Alzheimer’s Association.
