HILL, Sarah Rose, 88, of Jacksonville Beach, Fla. passed away peacefully on October 17, 2018. She was born on January 14, 1930, daughter of Caesar Edward and Kate Fennell Rose, and had a fraternal twin sister, Mary Rose Campbell, also deceased.
Sarah grew up on the Rose family farm in rural Dinwiddie, Va. until she attended the Medical College of Virginia where she received her degree as an X-Ray technician. Following graduation, Sarah lived in Charleston, SC. and Coral Gables, Fla. with her former husband, Owen "Sam" H. Hill, now deceased, before moving to Jacksonville, Fla. and starting a family. She later moved to Emporia, Va. where she spent the majority of her X-Ray technician career at Greensville Memorial Hospital.
Beginning her retirement years, Sarah moved to Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and spent time working with the Department of Children and Families. She loved staying busy and was an avid follower of all sports, from golf to football.
Sarah is survived by her daughters, Sarah Hill Gerber and Mary Hollis Hill, as well as her many nieces and nephews.
