An avid golfer, he overcame cancer and the loss of sight in one eye to play a pretty decent round of golf. He even took a few bucks from his JGCC buddies! W e thank everyone for all the prayers and thoughts and he was proud to know that so many people cared for him. Donations in his memory to the Miami High Athletic Association or Georgia Tech Athletic Association would be greatly appreciated. A Celebration of Life is being planned on Saturday, May 10th, from 2pm to 5pm at Jacksonville Golf and Country Club, 3985 Hunt Club Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Terry was loved by many and we would like to honor our beloved T-Bone by toasting him with one of his favorite sayings: “May your palm tree stand tall and your coconuts never hit the ground”! Love you always, T-Bone!

I first met Terry when I was a teenager working in the alarm industry. Even then, he always went out of his way to make time to talk to me and ask how I was doing.

Terry was a great businessman and did so much for the community, his employees, and his customers. I was honored to know him.

My sincere condolences to the entire Akins family. He will be missed by all.
