

Thomas "Tom" Dillon, 92, of Jacksonville Beach, FL, passed away on January 18, 2024. Born on June 20, 1931, in Newburgh, NY, and moved to Jacksonville Beach, FL in 1964. He was a proud veteran of the Navy, attending airman and aviation structural mechanic’s school. He served from 1950 to 1954. Tom was known for his charitable spirit, unwavering determination, and strong faith. He was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf.
Tom is survived by his three children, Cathy (Stan) Edge of Jupiter, FL, Brendon (Jacquelyn) Dillon of Neptune Beach, FL, and Kerry Dillon of Greenville, SC. He also leaves behind five grandchildren, of which 3 fondly referred to him as their “driver” as he had the privilege of taking and picking them up from school, and three great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Julia "Sheila" Dillon.
Tom was born and raised in Newburgh, NY and attended St. Mary's Parochial School and St. Patrick High School, also in Newburgh, NY. After his military service, he pursued a career in sales and food distribution.
Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 523 Pablo Ave., Jacksonville Beach with Fr. William Kelly officiating. Pallbearers will be Brendon Dillon, Justin Roberts, Patrick Dillon, James Dillon, Tyler Dillon, and Stan Edge. Interment at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Hills Memory Garden, 850 St. John’s Bluff Rd. N., Jacksonville. Funeral arrangements entrusted to HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, Jacksonville Beach.
