He was born on April 6, 1955 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, a son of the late Robert and Lily Kato Yamamoto. His family relocated to Las Vegas, Nevada where Tom graduated from Las Vegas High and his travels landed him in Jacksonville Beach, Florida, where he met and married his wife of 52 years, Penny.
Tom and Penny moved back to Las Vegas, where they lived and raised two sons. This is where he began his career as a chef and they opened a restaurant. After 25 years, they relocated back to Jacksonville Beach where Tom became the manager of Beach Bowl.
Tom’s love of cooking and humor are his trademarks. He loved to create delicious food and he loved to laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Penny Nishiyama Yamamoto; two sons, Robert and Kevin, both of Jacksonville Beach, Florida; and sister, Linda Greco of Ohio along with many other family members who will greatly miss him.
