Virginia Gayle Doyle

February 15, 1935 – February 3, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Virginia Gayle Doyle of Jacksonville, Florida on February 3, 2025 at the age of 89 years.

Gayle is lovingly remembered by her children, Rick (Caryn), Julie, and Danny (Mary Beth); her cherished grandchildren Kim (Todd), Sarah (Nick), Mary (Garrett), Charlie, and Carter; great-grandchildren Riley (Anthony) and Zach. She is also survived by her siblings Rex and David (Shirley), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a wide circle of friends who loved her dearly.

Gayle was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Dan Doyle; first husband Richard Whitehead; her parents, Thomas L. and Mary J. Pryde, her brother, Leslie Pryde, and her sister, Norma Barber.

Gayle was a loving mother, devoted wife, and a bright light to all who knew her. She had an infectious laugh, a smile that could light up any room and a heart that was full of kindness and love. She was a source of comfort, wisdom, and endless selflessness. Every meal she made, every word of encouragement she spoke, and every sacrifice she made was a testament to her unwavering love. She was the heart and soul of her family, and her love and devotion will be missed more than words can express.

Her hobbies included spending time doing crossword puzzles, sudoku and bird watching. She loved her yearly trips to the mountain and spending time with her family and friends. Her laughter, love, and spirit will remain forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. Rest in peace, Gayle.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 on March 23, 2025 with visitation with the family 1-hour before services at HARDAGE-GIDDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1701 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida.
