I am just hearing about this now and I am so sad that Wayne is no longer with us.  I met him many years ago through his work with the NSRP.  He was a great guy, very nice and he will be sorely missed.

What a sad and great loss for so many.  Wayne's smile always lit up the room and his quick wit made everyone smile.  His high standards and commitment to excellence extended from his professional life as an environmental manager to his community as a coach and mentor to local youth, to his personal life as he kept fit by running.  We have shared the sights of Alaska, Washington, California, Maine, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Florida together. We have worked, toggled presentations, gone to ball games, danced, gambled, and even shared a spring break together.  We have laughed and cried together.  We will miss him at every NSRP meeting and each time I raise a glass of Jack Daniels I will always smile as I think of the many laughs, meals,and trips we have shared with Wayne!  Good bye my friend, you will forever be in our thoughts.

I've known Wayne for about 15 years and met him through the Environmental Committee of the National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP). We had meetings three times each year and different shipyards would host the meetings.  Each time Wayne hosted it was always a good time and Wayne normally took us to a restaurant out in the swamp which was always good unique food.  Wayne would talk about how he would make certain dishes so I think he was a chef at heart.  On a professional level, Wayne was a very smart person and had a lot of responsibilities at his shipyard.  His environmental knowledge and experience will surely be missed. On a personal level, Wayne was always a kind and considerate person. He will always be my friend and I know we will all miss him at our next NSRP meeting in March 2015. We normally had a drink of Jack Daniels and diet coke together, so here is to you Wayne!

I had the privilege and honor of knowing and working with Wayne for over 20 years.  He was a kind, thoughtful and caring person and I always enjoyed talking with him about the days events, work or personal things.  He will be truly missed by all who knew him.  God Bless.

Wayne was a pleasure to work with.  Professional, knowledgeable, meticulous and confident without any hubris, he used humor to keep matters in perspective. He was a kind man who kept a smile on his face and saw the good in others.   God Bless you Wayne.

Our family grew up with Wayne and his family in Perry,fl.  Wayne and I spent countless hours playing sandlot football, basketball ,baseball, and just talking. When Wayne moved to Tallahassee, FL we spent time watching college and pro basketball and football. Wayne and his brother and sisters always felt like family to us.  A lot of good times. Working with wayne for the past seventeen years, I was saddened when I was told of his passing. He will truly be missed but not forgotten. RIP my friend!

I was privileged to know and work with Wayne for many years on the NSRP Enviro Panel for which he served as a truly dedicated Chairman and Vice Chair for many years.I have many fond memories of him as he was a very smart, kind, gentle man with a witty sense of humor. I met Wyane when I was hired at Alantic Marine Mayport and went to work at our Drydock Facility for a year, he was a very kind person who was always willing to help and give the hello and how your doing no matter how his day was going and always with a Smile.  May God Bless him as he was called home, my condolences to his family.

Though I did not know Wayne for a long period of time, I am saddened by the news of his passing. Sincere condolences to his family; friends and colleagues.

Wayne was much loved by all his classmates and friends from Taylor County and we are cherishing our memories.  I first met him in kindergarten.  I'll carry him in my heart forever.  RIP old friend, you won't be forgotten.

I will always remember how helpful and kind Wayne was to me since I have known him.  I am very sorry for your loss.

Wayne was a special friend (the first I made in Jax when I arrived in 1993). He was always helpfull and provided advice when I needed it most; I miss him already. Rest assured, we will see him again in glory. May God bless you during this time.

I did not know Wayne all that well, but the times that my job created an opportunity to work with him, it was always a pleasure.  He always greeted people with a smile.
