I was stationed on the Julius A Furer with Billy and he was ALWAYS a great guy! (Loved Georgia too) We had chatted about 3 months ago and he had hoped to come to Chattanooga for a visit....my condolences to the family...REST IN PEACE SHIPMATE.

I served with Billy and he will always be part of my memories. I am sadden buy the loss of a friend and will always remmber the good times.

RIP my brother..  as mentioned below we all shared many fond memories with Billy, I'm sure he would agree to that...  as i have been trying to bring some of those past memories to mind, i keep thinking of .38 Specials "Wild Eyed Southern Boys"... yet at the same time I'm thinking  The Gap Band  "You Dropped a Bomb on Me"...  thats the thing about Billy,   he was as open to people as he was to music... I remember bouncing around from club to club from Charleston to Bahrain... to San Juan... and all points inbetween... Billy could get serious, but mainly i will remember he kept a smile on his face, and ours..

A couple years back BIlly found my phone number, we called each other a few times, we talked about some of the old times, old friends, and what was going on now...   im so glad we were able to catch up.. thank you brother, for contacting me...  i will miss you...

It's nice to see that your friends from your days in the Navy remember you. A common thing is that you always made us laugh...something we all needed during those long deployments...we are all gonna miss you but will never forget you brother.

Rest in peace Billy Lutz. We had some crazy times in the navy and I'll never forget our phone calls. You left us too soon. Thoughts and prayers go out to your family. God bless.

Billy served with me in the United States Navy while onboard the USS Julius A. Furer (FFG-6). He was a true friend to many. I will truly miss him as I am sure he will be missed by many more who knew as I did.
