Wilma Joyce Green

Wilma Joyce Green, 87 of Ponte Vedra Beach, passed into God’s arms on Monday, May 25, 2015 at Baptist Beaches Hospital. She was the youngest of 4 children; 1 sister and 2 brothers. Joyce is the last of her generation of The Green Family. She was very devoted to her family. Joyce leaves behind a sister-in-law, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, many Great and Great-Great nieces and nephews and her sister-in-Christ of 50 years, Carolee Smith. Joyce was a life-long resident of Jacksonville. She graduated from Landon High School in 1945; and attended Columbia Bible College. She was a member of Glendale Community Church for many years. Joyce worked for Southern Bell, retiring from the Engineering Dept.

Joyce loved her horses; and owned several for most of her life. She enjoyed photography, working with leather, gardening, and Dichroic Glass Pendants and wire wrapping them. She shared her work-of-art with people she met in the bank, grocery store, Drs. Office, and on the street. It was her ministry to others. Joyce will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Beaches Chapel. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11 am at Greenlawn Cemetery located 4300 Beach Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Memorial contributions are preferred for the Jacksonville Humane Society on Beach Boulevard. This was a charity she donated to often and was close to her heart.
