Alden Garfield MacGregor, age 81, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Alden was born on February 15, 1942 in Jacksonville, Florida. He married Mary Louise MacGregor on July 12, 1963. Alden was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Jacksonville.
Alden was a highly skilled and natural born mechanic. He tinkered, built, and repaired practically everything he put his hands to. Alden worked as a semi trailer mechanic and subsequently retired from Great Dane. He was an accomplished guitarist, playing in local venues. He also loved spending time with Louise in the Blue Ridge Mountains, viewing the beauty of God's country during the autumn.
Alden was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise MacGregor. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Yvonne Macgregor.
A visitation for Alden will be held Friday, April 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, with Pastor Richard Carney officiating. A committal service will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
