Bong and I were teammates in high school at La Salle Greenhills basketball varsity team and were classmates in third and fourth year high school as well. His passion for the game and competitiveness is evident during our practice sessions. He is one of our most dedicated and hardworking players, a team player, very dependable, on and off the court. We shared a lot of happy memories with our team and our camaraderie carried on even after high school graduation. We will treasure his friendship and will carry these memories for the rest of our lives.

Where do I begin... I've known Bong since our early teens. We were part of a group of friends from Merville comprising of mostly guys with me being "the only rose amongst the thorns" as theys say.

Having said that, as childhood friends Bong and I shared many FIRSTS! First crush... (Secret!) LOL! First house party, with their group serving as the Dj for the party (EPICURE). First out of town outing ( Baguio), with him taking their car without permission! And him going missing for days! LOL! (It's a wonder why his parents didn't hate us!) First time getting drunk! I remember him holding my hair as I barfed my head off on the bridge over the pond at Greenbelt Park near Aunt Mary's! (Zombie pa more!) LOL! He served as the wing-man to my first boyfriend who's name I don't need to mention! Diba Anning! LOL! And my favorites are of me being the Maid of Honor at his and Anne's wedding ( which is why I always refer to their anniversary as OUR anniversary!), and him being Godfather to my son Mikee OMG! Anyways... needless to say he and I shared so many memories together.

"Good friends are like stars. You don't always see them, but you know they're always there."

Bong, that quote just about sums up our friendship. I guess the only difference now is you will be one of the stars I'll be wishing upon.

May God grant you eternal rest my friend since he has called you home. Death may have taken you away from me, but it could never take away your memories. You will always be in my heart, in your own special place. Always loved, never forgotten... till we meet again... (but not too soon hah!) Rest in peace my friend!

I LOVE YOU!!!

To my first and last hero, the one man who still forgave me after the many faults I went through. The man who loved me from day one and made me the man I am today. Dad you may be gone with us physically but spiritually I know that you are still there with me guiding me and helping me get back up whenever I fall. Thank you dad, I love and miss you more and more everyday.

I remember Bong when I was still residing in Florida 11 years ago. He was a great cousin who always put the needs and welfare of his family ahead of his. He was a hardworking father and loving husband to Anne and the kids.

As his family go through this hard time, it is comforting to know that they had 46 years of loving memories that cannot be forgotten. I will cherish the times that I got to spend with him and he and his family will always be in my prayers.

So long Bong, may God’s eternal light shine upon you and may you rest in peace.

Bong was a good man. A loving and responsible Husband and Father. We were teammates in our high school varsity basketball team (early 90’s) and we’ve been good friends since then. He gave me the honour of being his son Adrian’s godfather. It was always a fun time with him. He was one of the rowdiest and loudest members of our team.

Eventually he and Anne had to go to the US to start their own family. We saw each other again in 2009 after more than 10 years when we went to the US for vacation. He and his family made the effort to meet us halfway in Miami, Florida and that really made our trip even more special. We were together for only 2 days but it was like high school all over again. Nothing but fun and laughter!

You will be missed pareng Bong. Rest in Paradise. 🙏😇

I remember the first time we met, it was when I was your server at Maharlika. It was a busy night and I was overwhelmed with the chaos of a busy restaurant, but it’s true what they say that there is a blessing in everything. I can honestly say it was an honor meeting you that day, it was the beginning of a mentorship that started when I gave you an unopened bottle of beer, you point it out how much I must’ve hated my job. I laughed in agreement. That was the beginning of our friendship. We hung out, drank beers and talked about how bright our future would be. You became my Mentor and showed me the way. Taught me to become a better person. You showed me what I'm capable of and make me believe that I'm more than what I am. You treated me as your own son, allowing me to understand what it meant to become a man. You accepted me with my faults and reminded me that I was someone when I thought I was no one. I know you’re in a better place watching over my shoulders, even though you’re not here. Thank you again for all that you have done for everyone including myself. We love you. Rest in paradise.
