Alvah H. Knowles, age 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 3, 2017. Alvah was born August 26, 1938 in Jacksonville, Florida to Richard and Margaret Knowles. He retired after many dedicated years from Benjamin Moore as a truck driver. Alvah was a long-time member of Paxon Revival Center Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and camping. Alvah was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend; he will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Alvah is preceded in death by his parents Richard and Margaret Knowles; his brother Paul Knowles; and his granddaughter Shelby McCaul. He is survived by his loving and faithful wife of almost 56 years Junell Knowles; his daughters Charlotte Woodward (Jimmy), Sue Nerbonne (Eddie), Vickie Harris (Alvin), and Marie Cox (Ritchie) ; grandchildren Sarah Anderson, Amanda Beard, Natasha McCaul, Lee McCaul (Birttney), Aaron Beard, Nathan Woodward (Shelby), Justin Cox, and Devin Cox; great-grandchildren Alexia McLane, Andrew Anderson, Serenity McLane, Natalie Anderson, Kaitlynn Elliott, Summer Anderson, Elijah Harris, and Aiden Harris; brothers Calvin Knowles, Sr. (Edwina), Earl Knowles (Linda), Theodore Knowles (Elosie); and sister Helen Zulli (Mike).
