Andrew David Champion, age 82, passed away on December 15, 2017. Andrew was born on December 14, 1935 in Hartford, Alabama to Burt and Ruth Champion. He worked for the United States Postal Service, and also proudly served his country in the United States Army. Andrew enjoyed fishing and also enjoyed tending to his many fruit trees. Andrew was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Andrew is survived by his daughter Patricia (Michael) Bass; grandchildren Melanie Rogers and Pamela (Andrew) Nyman; great-grandchildren Brian, Christian, Haley, and Savanna Rogers & Savannah, Reagan, and Ashlynn Nyman; brother William (Kelly) Champion; and his loving friends the Hendrix family.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 2:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Tuesday prior to the graveside service.
