Angela Lynn Hillenbrand, age 57, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on March 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with a chronic illness. Known for her warmth, her tireless work ethic, and her ability to turn every acquaintance into a lifelong friend, Angela left an enduring mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Angela was born on August 22, 1968, in Orange Park, Florida, to George Miley and Sue Smith. She grew up in the Jacksonville area and graduated from Ed White High School in the mid-1980s. Angela went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Florida, setting the foundation for what would become an accomplished professional career.
Angela launched her career as a business analyst with Prudential, a role that took her to Atlanta, Georgia, and marked the beginning of a long and successful career in the field. A dedicated professional through and through, Angela was a self-described workaholic who took great pride in her work. Her analytical mind and commitment to excellence earned her the respect of colleagues everywhere she went.
While living in Atlanta, Angela married Gary Hillenbrand, and together they welcomed their son, Chase Hillenbrand. Though Angela was devoted to her career, she knew how to have fun and embrace life to the fullest. She had a casual and sweet personality that drew people in and kept them close.
Angela loved the water and the outdoors—whether she was taking sailboat trips, spending the day boating, or simply relaxing at the beach. She was passionate about traveling and exploring new places. A proud Florida Gators football fan, she also enjoyed country music, attending concerts, and going to dinner theaters. Perhaps her greatest gift, though, was her friendship. Nearly everyone Angela met became a long-time friend, a testament to the genuine kindness and warmth she carried with her every day.
Angela is survived by her beloved son, Chase Hillenbrand; her mother, Sue Smith; her father, George Miley; her brother, Eric Miley; and her nephew, Leaf Miley. She is also remembered by the countless friends whose lives she touched.
