Ann Elizabeth Stephens

Ann was born in Portsmouth, NH on May 22, 1939 and was raised by her loving parents, Frances “Franny” and Francis Stockwell in Auburn, MA. She graduated from Auburn High School in 1957 and in 1959 married Richard Stephens and they relocated to Jacksonville, FL, where she raised their five children and lived out the rest of her life. Ann worked most of life as a caregiver, helping the elderly and disabled, most being members of her church. She also worked at the St. Vincent’s Gift Shop for over a decade.

Ann was a strong believer in her Mormon faith and was a very active member of her church throughout her life, having served in many different leadership roles and capacities. She also volunteered within her community on a regular basis. She had a strong interest in genealogy and ancestry.

Ann was also an avid bowler and bowled on two bowling leagues up until the time of her unexpected death. When she wasn’t bowling, you could find her with the neighbors in her community playing board games, particularly Dominos, which was her favorite.

Ann is preceded in death by her daughter Kim Elizabeth Ellison and her son Keven James Stephens.

She is survived by her brothers Alan Brant of Barry, MA and Neil Stockwell of Worchester, MA; daughters Kelly Ann Bryan of Sarasota, FL, Karlene Staples (Rob) of Asheville, NC and Kerry Lynn Stephens of Jacksonville, FL; and daughter-in-law Nicole Gotto. Ann is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins and friends; but most importantly, Ann was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

A visitation for Ann will be held Thursday, May 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Following the visitation will be a graveside service at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
