Audrey M. Thompson, age 96, passed away February 18, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. Audrey was born on December 11, 1927 to Ernest Grooms Murray and Mary Magdalene Sikes. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She worked as a substitute teacher, and was a member of Callahan First Baptist Church. During her spare time, Audrey enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by her son, Michael Thompson and his wife Monique; granddaughters Megan Ocean and husband Joshua, Kayla Thompson and Hannah Thompson; great-grandsons Jayden Ocean and Liam Ocean; great-granddaughter, Emmalyn Ocean; and sister Mary Kathleen “Kitty” Blanton. Audrey is preceded in death by her husband, George Neal Thompson; they were married for 72 years.
A visitation for Audrey will be held Wednesday, February 28, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Callahan First Baptist Church, 45090 Green Ave, Callahan, FL 32011. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM at the church. A committal service will follow the funeral service at Mill Creek Primitive Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that money be donated to the Store House Ministry at Callahan First Baptist Church.
