

Avelino proudly served in the United States Navy, dedicating 23 years of his life to military service. After his retirement, he pursued many of his passions, including traveling, painting, and visiting yard sales. He found great joy in sharing stories about his latest treasures and the incredible deals he discovered with anyone who would listen.
Avelino is survived by his son, Avelino S. Elegino II, and his wife, Trudi; his son, Herman Muse, and his wife, Angie; and his daughter, Velda Evangelista, and her husband, Jesse. He also leaves behind 10 cherished grandchildren, 22 adored great-grandchildren, several stepchildren and his companion of his latter years Carmelita Manapat.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sophia Jacoba Muse Elegino and his son Michael Elegino.
Avelino will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His memory will live in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
A celebration of life for Avelino will be held Friday, February 28, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Riverside Event Pavilion, 1737 Memorial Park Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Followed by a reception. A committal service will occur Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
