Barbara Claire Evans, 86, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015. She was born on March 21, 1929 in Clifton Heights, PA, the second daughter of the late Charles C. and Marion (Gilmore) Kelly. Barbara was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church and a long standing member of “The Girls Friendly Society” which is sponsored by the Episcopal Church, a member of the Eastern Star and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Bill, and after completing business school she moved to Jacksonville to begin a long and successful career with State Farm Insurance, retiring in 1986. She enjoyed the church, ceramics, knitting, crocheting, playing canasta, and traveling to her beloved Florida State Seminole football games with family and friends. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) S. Evans and a sister Marion Louise Carver. She is survived by her daughter Melissa (Bryan) Holloway, her son Mark (Elaine) Evans, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
