Barbara Anne Tipton

On Wednesday, June 15, 2022, Barbara Anne Tipton, loving Mom to her three children, Granny to her grandchildren, and Great Granny to her great grandchildren, went home to Heaven at the age of 86.

Barbara was born on May 6, 1936 in Jacksonville, Florida, to Reverend and Mrs. Earl C. Kirkland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Addie Lee Kirkland; husband, William F. Tipton Jr.; two brothers, Charles Kirkland and Robert Kirkland; and sister-in-law, Jeannette Kirkland. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Tommy Joe) Wilson; children, Dale Tipton, Martha (Rick) Scott, and Wayne (Angie) Tipton; grandchildren, Jeremy (Ruth) Scott, Jonathan (Eva) Scott, Jennifer (Jonathan) Harris, David (Lera) Tipton, Christopher (Haley) Tipton, Andrew (Emily) Tipton, and Mary Rachel Tipton; great grandchildren, Taylor, Samantha, Hosea, Alexander, Sarah, Allison, Caroline, Blaire, Collins, and Victoria Rose; nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Barbara was the last surviving charter member of the Lane Avenue Church of God, where her father served as the first pastor, and a faithful member of the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) her whole life. She worked for Data Accounting Systems for many years and worked in the library at the Florida State College at Jacksonville (Florida Community College at Jacksonville) until she retired. She found joy in and had a deep love for Jesus and her family.

The family will receive friends at a visitation for Barbara on Monday, June 20, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lane Avenue Church of God, 2956 Lane Avenue North.

A celebration of life service will begin on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM at the church with Pastor Steve DuBose officiating.

A graveside service and burial will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard.
