

Benjamin Oshiro Nalawagan, 78, of Middleburg, Florida passed away on Thursday, August 19, 2021. He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on September 4, 1942 and attended Castle High School. He married Shirley Daniels on August 29, 1998.
Benjamin worked in the retail grocery business for Foodland, Welch's Distributing and Publix. He had a passion for gardening, raising orchards, cooking, board games, puzzles and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Nalawagan; children Valerie Brown, Debby Peters (Massimo), Jasmine Nalawagan and Benjamin Jeremy Nalawagan; step-children Mark Blocker (Kaye), Mike Blocker (Denise), Thomas Blocker (Mary) and Tammy Barnes; grandchildren Noah Rassmussen, Corey Brown, Amber Smulcheski (Mike), Kiana Kennedy, Ava Corkrill and Kaiden Clark; siblings Pauline Castro, Randy Javar, Andrina Gonzales, Rona Johnson, Vicky Reische, Eileen Javar, Sharleen Allard and Arthur Javar and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by daughter Joan Marie Nalawagan; brothers Frank Nalawagan and Lucky Boy Nalawagan.
A visitation for Benjamin will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM with service to begin at 3:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. "Aloha Attire" "No Graveside Service."
