

Bernardo was born on August 19, 1938, in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, Philippines, to the late Restituto and Gregoria Tamares. He was a devoted and loving husband to Araceli Cusi Tamares for 60 beautiful years, a partnership rooted in faith, commitment, and unconditional love.
He pridefully served 27 years in the United States Navy and retired as a Chief Petty Officer Aviation Storekeeper.
A hardworking provider and proud father, Bernardo cherished his four children: Jonathan (Lovelyn) Tamares, Bernard Tamares, Marissa (Rick) Ennis, and Restie (Tracy) Tamares. He was predeceased by his brother Carlos. Beloved lolo (grandfather) to Jonalyn (David) Lynch, Jaryd (Sydney) Tamares, Tanner (Delaney) Hollars, Chase and Jake Ennis, Claudia, Kathryn, Taylor, Allie, and Cooper Tamares, and a treasured great-grandfather to Zane Lynch. He is also lovingly remembered by his siblings, Lina Anyayahan and Dioscorro (Flordeliza) Remulla Jr.
Known to many as Bernie, he embraced life fully, finding his greatest joy in time spent with family. Some of his most cherished memories included celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary on a family cruise, a mountain trip to Gatlinburg, and relaxing together at Destin Beach. Bernie was a devoted husband, a respected role model, and the beloved patriarch of his family.
He was deeply loved for his generosity, kindness, and big heart. With strong values centered on family, faith, and education, he instilled wisdom and purpose in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Bernardo loved and faithfully served the Lord and is now at peace in the loving arms of his Heavenly Creator. His legacy of love, faith, and devotion will live on forever in the hearts of his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
