Betty K. Edwards, 84, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born March 5, 1930 to Arthur and Maude Kirkman in Greensboro, NC. Betty was a past president of D.A.E.O.P and retired as a secretary from D.C.P.S. in 1995. She was a member of Riverside Presbyterian Church where she was a member for 60 years and served as a deacon. She loved to work crossword puzzles, play the piano, watch the Atlanta Braves baseball team and watch her grandchildren play baseball. Betty is preceded in death by one sister Alta Ruth Davis and one nephew Allen Davis. She is survived by two daughters Sue (Frank) Freeman, Marsha (Danny) Calcote, one son Gray (Catherine) Edwards, six grandchildren Eddie Freeman, Laura (Nathan) Storey, Tyler (Amy) Calcote, Austin Calcote and fiance’ Courtney Criswell, Rachael Edwards, Ayslin Edwards and one niece Vickie Davis Ellis. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 6:00-800pm in the chapel. A Memorial service will be held at Monday, November 24 at 3:00pm at Riverside Presbyterian Church, 849 Park St., Jacksonville, FL 32204.
