Betty J. Sweat, 93, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in 1924 in Newport, DE. Betty loved crocheting, working crossword puzzles, word games, crafting and painting. Her passion was her family of whom she loved with all her heart. Betty is preceded in death by her husband of 25 years Robert Gene Sweat. She is survived by her children Suzanne (Don) McLaughlin, Robert G. Sweat Jr., Steve Sweat, Mark (Kathryn) Sweat, Karen (Kevin) Mathews, 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Visitation for friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday, October 2, 2017 from 6-8pm. Funeral services to be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the funeral home at 2pm with interment at Riverside Memorial Park. Pastor Ralph Eftevez officiating.
