Betty Louise Smith Wheeler of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully at her home at Riverside Presbyterian House on September 27th, 2020. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina on January 24, 1925. Betty was married to Johnnie Franklin "Frank" Wheeler. She worked as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell and then went on to become a secretary and office manager at the Duval County Court House. She was a member of Avondale United Methodist Church and enjoyed reading, listening to music, dancing, and especially spending time with her friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Wheeler and son, Glenn Franklin Wheeler. She was survived by her daughter, Sara Lynn Wheeler Box, granddaughter, Rebecca Elizabeth Box, and grandson, Ethan Earl Box.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 15th, 2020 at 11:00am at the Arlington Park Cemetery (6920 Lone Star Road, Jacksonville, FL 32211). Due to Covid-19, social distancing, masks, and lots of "air hugs" will be in order.
