Betty Joyce Yancey, age 81, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on October 27, 2022. She was born in Beersheba, TN on May 13, 1941 to Jacob Dee Perry and Aileen Scott Perry. She married James E. Yancey on October 20, 1974.
Betty enjoyed taking care of her family, fishing, shopping, reading and playing with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of very nearly 48 years, James E. Yancey; daughters Amanda Phillips and Julie Beamon; son Mark Dobbs; brothers Orville “Skippy” Perry and HD Perry; sisters Frances Davis and Sheila Westcott; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Jacob Dee and Aileen Perry; daughters Jackee Dee Dobbs and Jennifer Earnest; brothers Jackey Perry and Grady Perry; brother-in-law Bob Davis; niece Tina Wages and nephew Gerald Wages.
A visitation for Betty will be held on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
A funeral service will occur on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 2pm, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.
