Bill Austin

Funeral Services for William “Bill” Lowell Austin, 88, of Jacksonville, FL will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 12pm noon at Hardage Giddens-Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10am until service time at the funeral home.

Bill was born on January 9, 1933 in Madison County, IN to Mr. Victor Lowell Austin and Mrs. Eva Childers Austin. He passed away on August 23, 2021 in Jacksonville, FL. He married his beloved wife, Cornelia Estell Harper on August 9, 1954. Bill was retired from the United States Marines where he served as Master Sergeant. He served in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Air Medal Five Strike/Flight Award for his heroic achievements during the war. He had a love for “Fast” Cars. He was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars fan and enjoyed going to numerous games.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie; one son, Michael A. Austin; twin sister, Marilyn Jeane Austin Watkins; and granddaughter, Shannon B. Austin.

He is survived by his three children; Stephen R. Austin, Cindy Roxanne Austin Garrett, and Cary L. Austin; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Newell (Stephanie), LaSheika Wyatt (Lane), Clay Bullard, Stephen Shane Austin, Deven A. Kimbal, Mechele Sams (Scott), and Jessica Gadd (John); 15 great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Deanna Fox (Stephen), and Vicki Conquest (John); and many nieces and nephews.
