

Her family moved to the Northside of Jacksonville, Florida in 1945 when she was two years old. She graduated from Andrew Jackson High School and played the violin.
Her mother, Jenny Bonde Jessen, was born in Denmark and came to America with her family in the early 1900’s. They were going to travel to America on the Titanic, but it was sold out and they had to take another ship.
Her father, Andrew Jessen, also came to America in the early 1900’s.
Bonnie retired from American Heritage Life Insurance Company located in downtown Jacksonville. She was an avid animal lover and was always taking care of stray dogs and cats. She liked the beach, camping with her husband, riding around Jacksonville and loved to eat at Trent’s Seafood and Whitey’s Fish Camp. She couldn’t swim and was terrified of water.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Jenny Jessen and her husband David Jennings. She is survived by her three daughters Brenda Dugard, Linda Ellison and Patsy Pate and their spouses. Her grandchildren, Johnny, Amy, Bobby, Heather, TJ and Gracie. Her great grandchildren Anabelle, Paisley, Ethan, Emilee, Schaelynn, Jailyn, Autumn, Hannah, Raylan, Ryder, Levi and Trey.
A viewing will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida 32205 at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, February 4th. There will be a procession to Evergreen Cemetery located at 4535 N Main Street, Jacksonville, Florida 32206 followed by a small graveside service at 3:30 pm.
