Born to Eugenia Belle (Berg) and Lloyd in Kendall, Wisconsin on January 1,1931 - a New Year’s baby! Bonnie was the beloved middle child with an older brother, Donald (Joan) Evans, and a younger sister, Joyce (Hollis) KenKnight.
In 1951, she married her sweetheart, Robert H. Zelinske (1930 - 2012). They were blessed with four children: Diane (Patrick) Goin, David (Karen) Zelinske, Paul (Tracey) Zelinske and Nancy Martini - grandchildren: Maureen (Timothy) Fredericks, Jennifer Zelinske, Matthew (Vivien) Goin, Robert (Allison) Zelinske, Nolan (Debi) Wells, Michael Goin, Jesse Zelinske, Alexander Martini, Grace Martini, Jacob Zelinske and Joseph Martini - great-grandchildren: Crystal Zelinske, Jacob Goin, Johnathan Fredericks, Madelyn Zelinske, Oliver Fredericks, David Zelinske and Jackson Wells - great-great-grandson: Jordan Zelinske.
Bonnie’s sparkling blue eyes were quick to smile as she shared her love for all of us through her delicious cooking and baking - a trait she passed down through our family.
Throughout her life she took care of what she treasured most…family. We were what she loved most, and Bonnie enjoyed having all of her kids together laughing, sharing, and cooking.
In the early days, she was an x-ray technician who dreamed of being a fashion designer. Bonnie sewed as much as she could including making matching pajamas for the entire family - all by hand - for Christmas decades before it was trendy.
Bonnie was an avid gardener and nature lover. While camping, she took her family on many nature hikes, teaching us to be quiet and still in order to fully appreciate the enormity of nature’s beauty - being especially excited when she spotted a red cardinal.
She will be eternally remembered as the sweetest, kindest person we have ever had the honor of loving. Lucky are those who called her mom, grandma, wife, sister, daughter, and friend.
Bonnie and her husband, Robert, will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Menasha, WI. Graveside service for Bonnie will begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, November 19, 2022, followed by military honors for Robert at noon.
