After graduating from high school, he joined the U. S. Army. He married Janice Williamson on April 10, 1959. Boyd worked as a Special Agent for CSX Railroad.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janice; daughter, Melissa Jenkins; son, Donny; sister, Beverley Mason; granddaughters, Ashley Kethman, Brittany McWhorter and Lauren Williamson; grandson, Hunter Williamson; great-granddaughters, Madison Lee and Berkley McWhorter; and great-grandson, Bryson McWhorter.
Preceded in death by son, Tony Williams; daughter, Susan Williamson; father, Olin Williamson; and mother, Janie Williamson.
