She fought a good fight, but lost in the end. She spent her life taking care of her husband, children, and brothers. She had a love of crossword puzzles and clipping coupons, with new bargains to tell you about. Always seeing to the needs of others and not of her own. She was always kind and thoughtful and loved to spend time with those she loved. She loved to laugh and have a good time with everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Quarterman in 2004; parents, Ruth F. Armistead in 1996 and John H Armistead in 1978; brother, Steven A Armistead in 2020; and sister-in-law, Teresa Armistead in 2006.
She is survived by her brother, John D. Armistead of Jacksonville; sister, Elizabeth Anne Armistead Helvie of Jacksonville; daughters, Nichole Ruth Quarterman, Shannon Fernekes; grandson, Robert “Robbie” Fernekes; granddaughter, Chelsea Bolena; and 3 great grandchildren, all of Jacksonville, Florida.
A visitation will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 from 5pm until 7pm.
