Brenda Kay McNeil

Born in Phoenix, Arizona on August 4,1941 to Dorothy Mildred (Johnson) Hanson and William Hanson. She attended Gainesville High School, Gainesville, Florida and later moved to Jacksonville, Florida where she worked in banking and the automotive industries until retirement.

Brenda married David McNeil on Nov. 17, 1984. She became David's first-mate fishing partner and attended many Florida Gator football games. She also loved working in her flower garden and her many other homemaker duties.

Brenda is preceded in death by her father, William Hanson and her mother, Dorothy (Hanson) Earle; brothers, James C. Hanson, and Robert W. Hanson; and her daughter Peggy Golden.

She is survived by her husband, David R. McNeil; sons Rodney A. Parker (Michelle) of Melrose, Florida and Greg McNeil (Candance) of Albany, Georgia; her sister Judy (Strickland) Liedtke (Will) of Jacksonville, Florida; her sister-in-law Jeanette Campbell, of Jacksonville, Florida; and many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and cousins

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32205, on November 22, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
