Born March 25, 1950 in Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Jim Goodwin and Betty Goodwin.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Jim Blackmon; one daughter, Jennifer and her husband Michael; her brother Eric and wife Debbie; her granddaughter Jordan; her nieces, Kara (Joe), and Whitney (Patrick); brother-in-law Jerome; sister-in-law Jackie; sister-in-law Janet as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Carol was the kind of person who you wanted to be around. She was a wonderful wife, mother, aunt, Nana, and friend. She loved everyone she met, and her amazing ability to make you feel that love was breathtaking. She was a craft connoisseur and could often replicate anything from just one photo or description. She enjoyed and excelled at all kinds of artful activities including crocheting, knitting, quilting, jewelry making, ceramics, and painting. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to love her.
