She was born March 21, 1943 in Dothan Alabama to the late Jesse Marable Alphord and Ozie Reeder Alphord. Carolyn’s family was the great joy and pride of her life. She was married for 65 years and together they built a home filled with love. She cherished her role as a stay-at-home mom pouring herself into raising her four children. She was quiet and reserved, had a gift for putting others first and over the years she became a mother-like- figure to many in her family.
Gifted with her hands she was an excellent seamstress who enjoyed quilting, crafting, and was a wonderful cook.
Above all Carolyn loved the Lord with all her heart. She was a long time member of Whitehouse Baptist Church, taught Sunday School, and served faithfully in numerous ways over the years.
Carolyn is survived by her husband Jimmie, four children, eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. A sister, Miriam Dixon, (Ken, deceased) six brothers, Dock Alphord, Allen Alphord (Toni) Reisel Alphord (Diane) Randy Alphord, Jimmy Alphord (Michele) Michael Alphord (Wanda). Three brothers pre deceased, Guy Alphord, Jesse Alphord, Elbert Alphord.
She will be missed yet her family finds comfort in knowing she now rests in the presence of the Saviour she served so faithfully.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly ask that donations be made to the Whitehouse Baptist Church mission fund in her memory.
